Overview:

Shannon's information theory covers the typical communication scenario of point to point. As the rapid development of wireless networking, capacity of wireless netwroks became a key research topic. Professor P.R.Kumma, from Texas A&M University, gave the answer firstly by the concept of Transport Capacity. Then, a few researchers and professors put forward another routing to networking capacity through modeling the network topology by stochastic geometry. Transmission capacity based on interference modeling through physical layer analysis, is defined by the maximum throughput of unit area of wireless network under some Quality of Service. It is a new point of view to analyze wireless network capacity. And, reseach on capacity analysis of wireless network based on stochastic geometry can give insight on both design and analysis.
