Overview:
To support IoT applications such as smart manufacturing and smart home, it is critical to develop a wireless mesh network in unlicensed spectrum to connect massive devices, and support data transmission of different characteristics such as rate and delay. However, designing an efficient random access scheme for multi-hop networks in unlicensed spectrum remains an open problem. To this end, we develop a coordinated distributed scheduling scheme C-CSMA. Such a scheme achieves central coordination at second level time scale, and conducts local scheduling at packet level time scale. The scheme also integrates central coordination with local scheduling, which is proved mathematically.
